By utilizing
the Food Bank's cost-effective and reliable services, agencies are able to
provide more food or more varieties of food to their clients. Many use the money
they save through their Second Harvest affiliation to build other areas of their
organizations. Types of agencies that Second
Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida serves: Emergency
Food Pantry -- provides
food for individuals to take away and prepare at home Soup
Kitchen -- serves on-site
meals to individuals On-Site
Feeding Program -- also
serves on-site meals, usually to individuals with special needs. On-site feeding
programs include day care centers, senior centers, rehabilitation facilities and
others.
How to
become a Partner Agency: To be eligible to become a
partner agency of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, an agency must have a
feeding program that serves the needy, ill or infants; and it must have a
501(c)3 letter from the IRS. For more information on Second
