Tuna Tuesdays

Have a canned tuna food drive for the Food Bank. Bring tuna products to the food bank on Tuesdays. Get your friends or company involved!

September 1: Tuna Tuesday
Tuna Tuesday'sIf you are looking for a meaningful way to help your community, collecting and donating food through a Food & Fund Drive can be a fun way to do it! Our Gathering the Groceries guide will provide you with tips and strategies for collecting the most food you can. Please contact Mindy Ortiz at 407.843.5009 x20 or via email at ortiz@foodbankcentralflorida.org to set up a drive or if you have any questions.

September 3: Food for Thought
Food for ThoughtThis one-hour information session and tour is an eye-opening opportunity to learn about hunger in Central Florida and what Second Harvest Food Bank is doing to help.  The event will include a light breakfast or lunch.  Food for Thought dates in September: 1, 15 and 29. RSVP online.   

September 4: Contribute Funds
Contribute FundsYou may have heard that in the nonprofit world, “no money” means “no mission.” That’s certainly true for Second Harvest Food Bank, and we rely heavily on the generosity of our community. Funds are one of the four  most important ways (funds, food, volunteering, and advocacy) that you can help fight hunger. Donate today! For every $1 donated, up to $9 worth of grocery products are provided to Central Floridians in need.

September 5: Martial Artists Fighting Hunger - The Gauntlet
Martial Aritist Fighting HungerThe Gauntlet is a series of martial arts challenges hosted by Martial Artists Fighting Hunger. There are 10 challenge stations designed to test martial artists in the areas of power, technique, speed, balance, accuracy, self-defense and team play. 

  You can register online for free and the only cost to participate is a donation of canned goods for Second Harvest Food Bank. All martial artists are welcome from traditional styles to MMA, no one will have an unfair advantage. The kids will can get their picture with the Samurai and get a temporary tattoo.
