Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, in conjunction with Feeding America, announces the third annual Hunger Action Month, a nationwide call-to-action effort to mobilize people everywhere to get involved with fighting hunger in America.

One in five Central Floridians struggle with hunger. That’s why we are asking everyone to take action during Hunger Action Month. Throughout September, join millions of other Americans in giving a little of yourself … money, time, voice … whatever you can … to feed the hungry in your community.

Portraits of Hunger

Portraits of Hunger is a photography contest that brings light to the invisible problem of hunger in our community and the simple solutions that are possible.  

We would like to thank everyone who submitted photos for the contest. Online voting for the top 3 photos will begin in early September. Our judges will then choose the winner of Portraits of Hunger. The winner of Portraits of Hunger will be announced at the showcase party on Thursday, September 30 at Eden Bar.

The winner of Portraits of Hunger will have their photo displayed at Enzian Theater. This is a great opportunity for a photographer to get some exposure.
