Volunteer
Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida relies on more than 11,000 volunteers, whose hours total over 42,000, every year to fulfill our mission. Our various projects offer fun and unique ways for individuals and groups to contribute their time, talents and resources to connect with the community.

How to sign your group up to volunteer: Shifts run throughout the week, Monday-Saturday. To ensure a successful group volunteer event, please choose one Group Organizer to schedule your group View the shifts that are available and then email Mindy Ortiz at Mortiz@feedhopenow.org to confirm the volunteer shift and she will send your group organizer a Join Code. Volunteers in your group will then be able to sign up for the selected shift by entering this code when they register online via the Volunteer Now button above.
Court Ordered Community Service While we do accept volunteers that need to fulfill court ordered community service hours, please note that your offense must NOT involve a violent crime, theft, or drug charge. You also must be willing to provide all of the information regarding the court order and/or Probation/Diversion officer information for follow up by our organization.
Donation Sorters
Sort and box donated products at our new facility located at: 411 Mercy Drive, Orlando, Fl 32805 starting February 2013.

Hunger Study Volunteers: Volunteers are needed to help collect data for a HUNGER STUDY. We will send volunteers to some of our partner agencies to help conduct these surveys. You can read more about it and sign up here >>
 Cooler Sorters For those wanting to beat the Florida heat! Help us repack donations like meat and produce in our cooler area, where it’s fall year-round!
The temperature stays at about 60 degrees, so please bring a jacket, and anything else you would wear in that climate – we’ll provide your gloves.
Office Volunteers This position entails helping our staff with clerical duties like making copies, stuffing envelopes, stamping envelopes, data entry…etc. These positions are for regular business hours and only available on an as needed basis.
Food Drive Sponsors Coordinate a food drive at your organization or company and collect much-needed canned foods and other nonperishable food items. Make sure to download our "How to Organize a Food & Fund Drive" manual.
Special Events Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida has many special events throughout the year to raise funds and food, including Wine Women & Shoes and Taste of the Nation. Volunteers can assist by registering guests, serving food or assisting chefs.
National Letter Carrier's Food Drive (May) and Scouting for Food (November) are our largest food drives and many volunteers are needed to help sort and pack donated food at these drives.
Wine Women & Shoes Orlando Volunteers! Volunteers are needed with our large fundraiser this year to help with set up, during the event positions like pouring, assisting the vendors, check in…etc and breakdown.
